Holistic Approach to Neuro-Development and Learning Efficiency (H.A.N.D.L.E )
HANDLE Programme
®

Origin
Originated by the late Judith Bluestone, combining her own autistic experience with academic research and more than 40 years of clinical practice, she founded The HANDLE Institute® in 1994.
The programme offers a unique and compelling outlook on learning difficulties – something Judith herself preferred to call “learning differences”.

How it works
The programme begins with either a screening or an assessment, and is suitable for children aged 5 and above, who may be experiencing the following:

-
General Learning Disabilities/Challenges
-
Mild to moderate ADD/ADHD
-
Dyslexia
-
Perplexing Behaviours
HANDLE® aims to get to the root of your child’s learning struggles or behavioural challenges through observation, listening and no judgement.

Its main goal is to help us understand that our behaviour is key in understanding our underlying neurological systems. Through the use of specifically designed and customised activities that parents can do at home, HANDLE® helps children address these underlying systems and any issues they may face.

Certified HANDLE® screeners at ThinkGood 4 Children utilise the Gentle Enhancement® technique, where parent stop any activity immediately based on subtle signals and changes in their child’s breathing, dizziness or the child’s desire to stop. This sets HANDLE® apart from other approaches is the recognition that stressed systems do not learn or develop efficiently.
Understanding the simple idea that ‘less is more’ can prove life-changing for HANDLE® clients. Parents who have young child, aged 5 and above, who are having learning differences, are encouraged to come for HANDLE®Screening.
